Air Jordan 1
Air Jordan 1
Air Jordan is a brand of shoes and apparel produced by Nike, Inc. It was created for basketball player Michael Jordan during his time with the Chicago Bulls in late 1984 and released to the public on April 1, 1985.
What makes the Air Jordan 1 so special?
One reason the Air Jordan 1 is so iconic is that it came in a variety of colors. Before it was released, most basketball shoes were very plain, usually white and black or white and navy. The Jordan 1 also helped stop Nike’s rare slump.
Air Jordan 1 High
The Air Jordan 1 High debuted in 1985 as the first signature sneaker developed by Nike for Michael Jordan. The Peter Moore designed performance basketball sneaker featured a simple design that incorporated the Nike Swoosh and the Jordan Wings logo and featured Nike Air technology. The black and red colorway of this shoe was famously banned by the NBA for not adhering to their dress code. The Air Jordan 1 High has been retroed numerous times since its initial release.
Air Jordan 1 Mid
The Air Jordan 1 High and Air Jordan 1 Low were both designed by Nike for Michael Jordan in 1985. After releasing several colorways of both the original low and high in 1985-1986, Jordan introduced the Air Jordan 1 Mid in 2000 during the Air Jordan 1s second retro run. This mid-top version of the sneaker was developed as more of a lifestyle option, as its ankle collar was shortened by several inches from the more performance-oriented high-top.
Air Jordan 1 Low
Alongside the Air Jordan 1 High the Air Jordan 1 Low debuted in 1985, as the first signature sneaker developed by Nike for Michael Jordan. The shoe featured a simple design that incorporated the Nike Swoosh and the Jordan Wings logo, and it featured Nike Air. It originally released in several colorways that mirrored the High releases, which included Bulls inspired and metallic colorways. The Air Jordan 1 Low returned in the 2000s, and has had several retro releases since then.
The most popular Air Jordan 1 releases
The most popular releases of the Air Jordan one are mostly the OG colorways that came back from back in the days when the Air Jordan 1 just released. Also, not to forget the collaborations between Jordan brand and other brands just like Nike x Off White. That came with the Air Jordan 1 x Off White ‘Chicago’.
