What makes the Zoom Kobe 6 Protro ‘Reverse Grinch’ so special?

First revealed back in 2021 and worn out on court by Anthony Davis. First made public in 2021, the Kobe AD took on a “Grinch” colorway in honor of Dr. Seuss’s famous work. The “Reverse Grinch” edition revisits this design but flips it on its head by using bright reds on the signature’s scales and through the midsole. Black Swooshes are then stamped onto the side as well as the logo and signature; both feature green laces adjacent to them.

The Kobe 6 Protro ‘Reverse Grinch’ isn’t called reverse if it doesn’t have an original colorway. The Grinch Kobe 6 debuted on Christmas day back in 2010. With all the hype around these, we all assumed this sneaker is called the Grinch, but Nike officially called these the Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Green Mamba”. Did you know this fact?

The Nike Zoom Kobe 6 was designed by Eric Avar in 2010-2011 and features a polyurethane “island” upper, made to mimick snake’s skin. Other details include a dual-layer memory foam sockliner, Phlyon injected midsole and Zoom Air units in the heel and forefoot. They were retroed for the first time in 2014 as a part of the Kobe Prelude Pack.
